Homeowners are largely concerned with balancing energy efficiency vs light transmission. What does that mean? Northwest homeowners are typically interested in having the most energy efficient windows they can, both to be green and to save money with available rebates. The more panes you add to a window the more efficient it is, but less light will come in which is difficult with our cloudy Pacific Northwest skies.
For the green homeowner who wants the max in energy efficiency, we have created the Classic Window, which uses a coating instead of adding an extra pane. That way you get the energy savings of triple pane in a double pane product.
Depends on how big the project is! Upon scheduling we will provide an estimate on the number of hours or days for your project. These windows are going to be in your home for a long time so we take our time ensuring everything is right the first time.
We do not use subcontractors to install windows. Your windows will be professionally installed by Washington Energy Services employees. In addition, all of our installers are licensed, bonded and drug tested.
Aluminum
Aluminum window frames conduct heat rapidly making for poor insulation. This allows for a hot home on hot summer nights and a drafty home in the cold winter nights which ultimately costs you not only money but, discomfort as well. These old frames are especially difficult to find now-a-days because the industry has learned of their poor performance overtime.
Single Pane Glass
According to ENERGY STAR, replacing single-pane windows for a typical home to an ENERGY STAR rated window can save you from $146-$501 annually and 1,147-3,839 pounds of CO₂. (ENERGYSTAR.gov) In addition, upgrading to double or triple pane windows will increase your overall home comfort and security.
Noise
The type of window in your home plays a big role in noise transmission. Living near a busy street or a noisy neighborhood can make for noisy nights and lost sleep. Our windows are created using advanced technology to reduce sound transmission.
Fading Furniture, Carpets & Drapes
Older windows allow ultraviolet rays to beam through the windows causing the fabrics in your home to fade in color over time. Our windows have a Low E film that blocks up to 95% of the sun’s ultraviolet light to protect your valuables while still allowing natural light into your home.
Leaky Windows
This is a sure sign window replacement should be considered. Leaky windows are especially problematic here in the Northwest where rain is abundant. The excess moisture is the perfect environment for mold and mildew growth in your home.
All for home.
